JULES JACQUES VEYRASSAT (French / 1828-1893)

Jules Jacques Veyrassat (sometimes listed as Jacques-Jules Veyrassat) was born and died in Paris, but he is essentially an artist of the countryside. Veyrassat, who was taught by Lehmann and Besson, is regarded as one of the minor masters of the Barbizon School. Veyrassat created both original etchings and interpretative etchings after artists such as Daubigny. A number of his etchings were published by Cadart, and in the journal L'Artiste.
