J. C. VONDROUS (Czech/American /
1884-?)
Jan C. Vondrous was born near Prague in 1884. His family emigrated to the USA when he was nine years old. Jan C. Vondrous studied at the New York Academy of Design under James D. Smillie. Although he remained in America, J.C. Vondrous maintained close links with the Prague art world, and was a member of the Mánes Art Society. He is often listed under his Americanized name, John C. Vondrous.
