EDOUARD LOUIS DUBUFE (French /
1819-1883)
Édouard-Louis Dubufe (or, sometimes, Debufe or Dubuffe) was a successful portrait painter. Dubufe was the son of the painter Claude Marie Dubufe (a pupil of David) and the father of hte painter Édouard Marie-Guillaume Dubufe. Édouard Dubufe studied under his father and Paul Delaroche. He exhibited at the Salon de Paris from 1839-1879.
